About Me

Hi! My name is Jamea or Mea, for short. I'm a West Virginia native and Full Stack Developer that works in JavaScript, React, Node, Express, SQL, and Python. I attended West Virginia University and graduate school at Virginia Tech for Animal Science where I attained organization, time-management, and critical-thinking skills. I used these skills and acquired experience in building SERN-based applications in addition to leadership after changing my career path to web development. I would hate if these skills when to waste. I hope to contribute to meaningful applications for a company I love. My pastimes and stress relievers involve reading books, playing video games, and spending time with my friends and family.

Hackathon Portal was the first project that mimicked the day-to-day life of a web developer. As a team we had to go through multiple product cycles and meet the set deadline to deliver an app that allowed users to create and sign up for a hackathon. Node, Express, and PostgreSQL were used in the back end. Users were authenticated through Oauth and front end built the app and managed state using the React library and Redux.
